About Us

All about us, huh? Well...hope not to bore you to death, but we're just ordinary everyday Americans who have worked hard and supported our family and Our God and our country through the years.

Jim turned 60 November 8th, and has been happily married to Teena for 38 years as of Valentine's Day (Of course, she was a child bride and is no where near Jim's age! :) We have two sons, Jimmy and Franklin who've one way or another presented us with 8 grandchildren. We'll have some pictures on the site soon so you can see us in living color!

After dropping out of college to marry Jim Valentine's Day of 1970, Teena finally went back to college when we returned from Europe in 1979, and subsequently received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education followed by her Masters. She's been teaching ever since. She started out at the Ft. Rucker Elementary School on Ft. Rucker, Alabama, and moved to Eastside Elementary in Lake City, Florida in 1989. She taught first grade for a lot of those years, but six years ago she was promoted! She moved up to second grade! LOL. She really enjoys her work AND her vacations, too.

Ideas Unlimited Consulting was begun in 1987 in the basement of our home in Daleville, Alabama, as a computer bulletin board system. In fact, back in those days, we had the fastest bulletin board system in the whole state, a US Robotics 9600 Baud Modem was our link to the world. It's funny now to think of how blazingly fast we thought that was compared to the majority of modems in the world at that time which were real slowpokes at 1200 to 2400 baud. By comparison, current dialup speeds are at 56K and up depending on hardware connections. And cable modems, DSL, ISDN, and satellite links are even faster. We are thrilled to finally have DSL here at the office after almost a year of satellite. Satellite is very fast compared to dialup, but not compared to DSL.

In late 1987, Jim retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 from the US Army after 20 years and one week of service around the world, including Georgia, Alabama, Texas (3 times at Ft Hood), Germany, Korea, and of course, South Viet Nam. He then became a geographical bachelor (BOO HISS BOO not a good thing to do) by moving to White Springs, Florida, to operate the family farm (Jim's an only child). After 4 years of drought, a grass fire that burned up the hay baler, and contrary cows and pea-picking customers, Jim decided to re-open our computer consulting business in Lake City...and that's how we got started again.

Since then Jim has also taken on a huge aggravation by managing some rental property. If you ever want to have headaches just take some rentals on yourself! Whew! There are some rewards, though, not all tenants are deadbeat lying flakes, just a high percentage!

UPDATE Jim started a Lawn Service Business in 2006. It is still going well, although we have way too many irons in the fire right now, but hopefully it will be built up enough to sell when Teena retires, so we can BOTH retire.

Well, that's about it, if you have questions, just ask, we MIGHT tell you! Seriously, though we will answer, we just might not give you the answer you want!
